Nammo Space

Nammo Space

Starting in the 1990s as a spin-off from Nammo’s military rocket propulsion activities, our space activities have developed into a small, yet highly competitive part of the company.

Our space activities are focused on Propulsion Systems and fluidic and mechanical components in support of In-Space Propulsion Systems and Launchers.

In addition to their design and manufacturing capabilities, all locations supporting Nammo’s test activities have available extensive test benches and equipment in order to perform in-house qualification testing before delivery to the customer. The Raufoss test facilities in particular are dedicated to Green Propulsion using Hydrogen Peroxide.

Going Hybrid in Space

Hybrid engines are not just for cars. Nammo has developed a rocket engine that could help make green space propulsion a reality. One of the lead engineers on the project has been Dr. Martina Faenza.

Launching History – The Nucleus Story.

In Raufoss in Norway, a small team of engineers from all over Europe has spent years developing the first rocket capable of reaching space that is powered by a Norwegian hybrid rocket motor – Nucleus. This is their story.
