Most of the 25mm rounds are High Explosive (HE) or Multipurpose (MP) variants. The latter allows a user to combine armor piercing with explosive abilities. The 25 mm x 137 PGU-32/U SAPHEI-T features the Multipurpose technology with tracer, and is designed to defeat all kinds of soft targets as well as light armor targets. Pyrotechnical initiation provides a delay, ensuring the incendiary, blast and fragmentation effects are delivered inside the target, and a high graze angle sensitivity.
