Nammo/Diehl secure large artillery order

Nammo secures its largest ever artillery ammunition order as part of an industrial working group with Diehl Defence. The industrial working group of Nammo and Diehl Defence (ARGE DiNa 155mm) has received a significant order from the German Armed Forces for the production and delivery of 155mm artillery projectiles.

Nammo and Diehl Defence also signed an agreement with the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw). This marks a substantial expansion of the framework agreement signed last year, to ensure the secure supply of 155mm artillery ammunition for the German Armed Forces and their allies.

The agreement demonstrates the long-term commitment to procuring large caliber ammunition, enabling the build-up of necessary production capacities in Germany.

Alongside the contract signing, an initial order for 155mm artillery projectiles was agreed upon, laying the foundation for expanding a national production line.

The ARGE DiNa 155 industrial working group is a true defense partnership combining the strengths of Nordic technology with German production. It is based on a proven collaboration between companies of similar size with a deep commitment to technology leadership that has produced results over time in various military programs, of high complexity. Since the initial framework agreement, Diehl Defence and Nammo have collaborated with their partners to build national production capacities, aiming to deliver as promptly and reliably as possible. Particularly in the field of explosives, ARGE DiNa 155mm benefits from cooperation to ensure the availability of explosives for ordered artillery projectiles.

Helmut Rauch, CEO of Diehl Defence, stated: “We are very pleased to have been awarded the largest framework contract for conventional ammunition in Diehl Defence’s history. This contract confirms the trust in us and the reliability of our company. Additionally, we strengthen our long-standing and successful cooperation with Nammo.”

Morten Brandtzæg, President & CEO of Nammo, said: “This significant order underscores the strong and enduring partnership between Nammo and Diehl Defence. Our combined expertise and commitment to excellence ensure that we can meet the high demands of the German Armed Forces reliably and efficiently. We are proud to contribute to this vital project and look forward to continued collaboration.”
