The Finnish government said in a statement Wednesday that Jyri Häkämies (cons), the defence minister, had authorised the army to buy about 121 million euros in ordnance from Nammo and Patria between this year and 2011.
The defence ministry said the orders supported the Finnish ammunition industry.
Patria is majority-owned by the Finnish government, while Nammo's ownership is split 50-50 between Patria and the Norwegian government.
