Nammo’s development of a complete new family of 30 mm ammunition gain attention and interest among defence organisations in Europe and the US. MPLD-T (Multipurpose Low Drag withTracer), TP-T (Target Practice with Tracer), TP-R³ (Target Practice with Reduced Ricochet Risk) and APFSDS-T (Armour Piercing Fin Stabilised Discarding Sabot with Tracer) are included in this ammunition family.
A Letter of Intent for acquiring the first 30 000 ea 30 mm Multipurpose (MP) cartridges is received from the Norwegian Army Material Command for use in their new fighting vehicles CV9030. Final contract for this delivery in 2001 and corresponding option for another 10 000 pcs. will be signed during this year.
US Defence Forces have ordered 30 mm MP and APFSDS-T ammunition for further test programs in their AAAV project.
Switzerland has also fulfilled successful testing of the APFSDS-T projectiles.
The total value including Letter of Intent from the NAMC and initial test orders amounts to approx. MNOK 30.
