Nammo has several programmes on Fuze Technology. In co-operation with FFI (Norwegian Defence & Research Establishment), Nammo has carried out a Programmable Ammunition Technology programme since 2002. This programme has developed new technologies for use in our products.
Nammo has long experience in traditional mechanical fuzes and we are into programmes working on electronic fuzes with Safe and Arm Units including MEMS (Micro Electric Mechanical Systems). For fuze power supply we use batteries activated after launch, setback and also power generators based on piezo.
Nammo has qualified and delivered 40mm grenade launcher ammunition with a programmable fuze. Next generation of this fuze with wireless communication between the weapon platform and the ammunition will be qualified this year.
Nammo is also the fuze supplier for the M72 LAW and the M72 ASM.
