The Finnish Army Materiel Command and Nammo Lapua Oy sign a substantial multiyear contract

The contract between Nammo Lapua Oy and The Finnish Army Materiel Command was signed on April, 23rd. The contract covers deliveries of various ammunition products to the Land Forces in 2009-2012. The contract value is approx. 70 MEUR, additional options not included.

This agreement strengthens Nammo's position as a strong player in the ammunition industry in Finland, utilizing the expertise in Finland as well as in the overall Nammo Group. This agreement is a continuation of previous multiyear contracts.

”This is a very important contract, giving Nammo Lapua Oy an opportunity for more sustained development of operations both financially and quality wise. This improves the foundation for operations not only internationally, but also for efficient industrial activities in Finland" says Raimo Helasmäki, President of Nammo Lapua Oy.

”The contract signed today is a natural continuation of the long co-operation between Nammo Lapua Oy and AMC HQ" says the Chief of System Division, Col Mikko Myllykangas. "At the same time the contract strengthens the domestic expertise and creates possibilities in the international markets. Nammo Lapua Oy is able to utilize the know-how of its complete network as a reliable domestic operator"

The contract creates a good and solid base for the work-load in Nammo’s facilities both in Lapua and in Vihtavuori over the next years.
