Nammo awarded contract to demilitarize Cluster Munitions for Japan.
In August 2011 Nammo Demil Division were awarded the contract to demilitarize a number of Cluster Munitions on behalf of the Japanese MOD (MODJ) in a program that will conclude February 2015.
The Cluster Munitions due for disposal under this program include the MLRS M26 system, CBU´s, and 155mm Artillery Cargo rounds.
“We are glad that MoD Japan has signed this contract with us and chosen a secure and environmental friendly demilitarization method. This is yet another proof that our expertise is competitive on the market”, said Reijo Bragberg, Executive Vice President of Nammo’s Demil Division.
Nammo will carry out the work in the company’s demilitarization facilities at Nammo NAD in Norway and at Nammo Buck in Germany.
