History

The company hotel of Nammo AS is no doubt in a class of its own. It was built in 1916 for NOK 35 000, which was funded by "Nøytralitetsværnet" (the Protection of Neutrality). It was originally built as an officer's mess hall, but later restored in both 1970 and 1985.

Hipped roof, authorized architecture and tennis court in the yard signalise Messen's taste of quality and for the good life.

Messen in former times

Already at the impressive entrance, with the Norwegian Nation's lion banner above, you get the feeling of luxury. One will be far from dissapointed when one sees that Messen has kept its historic and traditional style, with objects from the military service and splendid paintings from - among others - Theodor Kittelsen.
